Class N is the entry-level sterilization class defined by the European Union standard EN 13060. It removes air through gravity displacement and is suitable for sterilizing unpackaged solid metal or glass instruments. The key difference between Class N and Class B autoclaves is that Class N autoclaves cannot remove air from the interior of hollow instruments or porous items. Therefore, Class N autoclaves cannot be used for sterilizing dental handpieces, endoscopes, or packaged items. They are more affordable and easier to operate, making them suitable for basic sterilization needs.
The unit comes with a 2-year warranty. Core components (heating elements, control system) not damaged by human error will be repaired or replaced free of charge during the warranty period.
Common causes include:
Cold air not fully vented: Before starting the cycle, open the exhaust valve and vent cold air for 3–5 minutes; close the valve only after steam is continuously escaping.
Overloading: Instruments are stacked too tightly, preventing steam from penetrating; reduce the load.
Insufficient temperature/time: Ensure the temperature reaches 121°C before starting the sterilization timer.
