CM-P60CP portable colorimeter is widely used in plastic, electronic, paint, ink, textile, garment, printing and dyeing, food, medical, cosmetic, industries, scientific research institutes, schools and laboratories. It can precisely measure kinds of color indexes in various color spaces and easy to use with powerful functions. The portable colorimeter is equipped with high-end color management software which can be connected to PC to achieve more extension functions.

What is a colorimeter?

A colourimeter is a photosensitive instrument used to measure how light is absorbed and transmitted in a liquid sample.


Inaccurate or drifting measurement results

Possible causes:

  1. Sensor contamination (dust, fingerprints or liquid residue)

  2. Calibration failure or failure to use standard calibration tablets

  3. Ambient light interference (bright light or UV effects)

  4. Voltage instability due to low battery

Solution:

  1. Wipe the sensor window with a special cleaning cloth

  2. Recalibrate (use original standard white plate or calibration solution)

  3. Measure under a stable light source, avoid direct light

  4. Replace the battery or connect the power adapter


Failure to turn on or sudden shutdown

Possible causes:

  1. Battery depleted or poor contact

  2. Power button damaged or circuit failure

  3. Device overheating protection triggered

Solution:

  1. Check battery polarity and replace with new batteries

  2. Try charging or using an external power source

  3. Contact after-sales service to repair the circuit problem


Abnormal screen display (splash screen, flickering)

Possible causes:

  1. Loose or damaged screen wires

  2. Faulty motherboard or software error

Solution:

  1. Ensure that the sample is uniform (e.g. liquid is well mixed, solid surface is flat)

  2. Warm up the device for 5~10 minutes before measurement

  3. Contact the manufacturer to check the status of the sensor


Measured value out of range (Error message)

Possible causes:

  1. Sample concentration is too high or color is out of range

  2. Wrong measurement mode is selected

Solution:

  1. Dilute the sample or change to a higher range model.

  2. Check device settings (e.g. chromaticity space: Lab/RGB/HSV)
