The falling number meter, with its digital time control, automatic calculation function and printer output, provides a convenient and reliable solution for accurately determining grain amylase activity.
Principle of operation: Cereal flour (e.g. wheat flour), in suspension, can be rapidly pasted in boiling water. Due to the differences in the degree of liquefaction of the pasted starch caused by different amylase activities, the rate of fall of the stirring bar during the pasting process will be different. By measuring the time it takes for the stirring bar to fall freely to a certain height, the amylase activity level is expressed in terms of the number of falls, with lower values indicating higher activity.
The electronic timer precisely controls the test time to ensure the accuracy and repeatability of the test.
Equipped with a microcontroller, it can automatically calculate the test results, making it easy for users to obtain an accurate amylase activity index.
The results can be output by connecting to a printer, allowing users to conveniently record and save the test data.
