Blood Gas and Electrolyte Analyzer Features:

  1. The BGE-150I is a very advanced blood gas electrolyte analyzer. Solid-state ion electrode measurement reduces post-maintenance and has a long service life. It is equipped with disposable reagent packs, which are more environmentally friendly and unaffected by power outages.

  2. The solid-state electrodes provide accurate measurements and a long service life. The solid-state electrode eliminates the interference of other ions in the sample, resulting in better reproducibility.

  3. Full auto-sampling function to ensure the normal operation of the instrument and the safety of the operator.

  4. Comprehensive testing of blood gases, electrolytes, oxygen saturation, etc., completing all tests in one go.

  5. Electrode channels can be selected according to requirements, reducing actual consumption and minimizing maintenance costs.

  6. Color touch screen for easy operation and viewing of test results

FAQ

How soon after collection must the sample be tested?

Ideally, testing should be completed within 10 to 30 minutes. If testing cannot be performed immediately, the sample should be stored in ice water at 4°C, but for no longer than 2 hours. Prolonged storage at room temperature can lead to a decrease in PO₂, an increase in PCO₂, and a decrease in pH.

What effect do air bubbles in the sample have?

Air bubbles cause an increase in PO₂ and a decrease in PCO₂, and can also lead to unstable results. Air bubbles should be removed immediately after collection, and the sample should be sealed.

Which anticoagulant should be used?

Heparin (sodium heparin or lithium heparin) is the anticoagulant of choice, with a recommended concentration of 1250 IU/mL. EDTA or sodium citrate must not be used, as they interfere with electrolyte and blood gas results.

What happens if the sample is not mixed thoroughly?

This may lead to the formation of microclots, which can block instrument tubing or cause inaccurate test results (e.g., falsely elevated K⁺, falsely decreased Ca²⁺, etc.).

How often should the Blood Gas and Electrolyte Analyzer be cleaned?

It is recommended to clean the analyzer at least once a week, including the electrode surfaces and sample ports. If protein deposits are present on the sensor surfaces, soak and clean them with a deproteinizing solution.

How should analysis kits/reagent kits be stored?

They are typically stored at room temperature (2–8°C or room temperature, depending on the brand). Be sure to check the expiration date. Once loaded into the instrument, they should generally be used within 3 weeks.

Will a power outage affect the Blood Gas and Electrolyte Analyzer?

The instrument is equipped with disposable reagent kits, which are more environmentally friendly and are not affected by power outages.
